iNspire Quarterly Spring 2012

Pic of SharonSpring is upon us, that transition time between winter and summer also seems to generate notions of rebirth and renewal or in BBA's case, opportunities to Renew, Renovate and Reboot! Let's get specific:

Renew: Older hotel properties, condominium common areas and office lobbies need updating from time to time to stay fresh in the eyes of your guests and visitors. That first impression goes a long way.

Renovate: Both the Fairmont Chateau Whistler guestroom corridors and Victoria's Magnolia hotel guestrooms (right) are about to get a fresh new look.

Reboot: Time for all of us here at BBA to shake it up a bit too with fresh inspiration from our upcoming trips to various industry events.

Recently, I had the good fortune to participate in an interior design mission to Denmark sponsored by the Royal Danish Consulate General in collaboration with the Danish Design companies and the Interior Designers of Canada (IDC).

New friendships were formed over dinner at the conclusion of our busy days more here >>

the bba solution

Before Limited Space

Awkward layout and reduced access limited the sense of space

Don't Relocate, Renovate!

This condominium has an amazing Coal Harbour location, a large outdoor patio and view. But the awkward kitchen layout, limited access to living/dining spaces and low ceilings made the space feel cramped. BBA convinced the owner that with such a great location, it was worth considering renovation rather than relocation.

The walls between kitchen and dining were opened up and the kitchen was reconfigured with a larger island and seating for 4. Voila! The space is renewed by keeping the finishes simple and minimal and the details clean and modern

After Spacious and Airy

A spacious, light and airy home was created or rather re-created!
